Batteries and various energy storage devices are currently being developed to power an increasingly diverse range of applications, from cars to microchips. A variety of batteries are being explored as the demand for smaller, lighter, and longer life power sources for various applications is on an increase. Newer batteries, including lithium-ion, nickel-metal hydride, achieve specific energies and energy densities significantly greater than that of the lead-acid batteries. Li-ion batteries are high performance high energy density batteries, but these are associated with slow charging capability. Additionally, Li is very costly, and in most of the countries it has the scarcity. Thus, various batteries other than lithium batteries are being more and more prevalent. One such batteries are Aluminium batteries with much higher energy capacity and also very fast recharging ability.
Nordische Technologies is developing a high performance aluminum ion battery made of unique electrodes and electrolyte for EV application. Appropriate non-volatile and non-flammable Room Temperature Ionic Liquids (RTIL) with wide electrochemical potential window can enable reversible Al stripping and plating processes.
Hydrogen is a pivotal element in achieving the climate change goals. With the National Hydrogen Strategy, India is finally making the leap into a sustainable energy system. Sea water gives us endless opportunities for developing these path breaking exercises for this process employs several simple sustainable technologies using clean energy, like low cost solar wind energy, for driving the entire process. Nordische Technologies and its associates have developed this path breaking sea water mining process. Electrolysis of mostly abundant seawater rather than scarce fresh water is a promising way to generate clean hydrogen energy and battery grade scarce. The hydrogen strategy is the long-awaited breakthrough for India as an industrial and technological location. It sets the stage for the broad application of hydrogen technologies and provides the necessary funding for the market ramp-up.”
